FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about our process serving, notary, and legal support services. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact us.

What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve Houston and surrounding counties, including Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Liberty, Polk, and San Jacinto Counties. For requests outside our standard coverage area, availability is confirmed before accepting an order.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. LocateServe works with Texas-certified process servers and commissioned notaries. Services are performed in accordance with applicable Texas rules and local court requirements.

Do you provide legal advice or prepare legal documents?

No. LocateServe is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or draft legal documents. We handle service of process, notarization, document filing, retrieval, and delivery only.

Is payment required upfront?

Yes. Most services require payment before work begins. This allows us to schedule attempts promptly and allocate resources efficiently. Certain ongoing or high-volume clients may qualify for invoicing by arrangement.

Are service fees refundable?

Service fees cover time, travel, and attempts — not the outcome. If service cannot be completed after all attempts are exhausted, you will receive a detailed non-service report that may be used for further legal action.

How do I send you documents?

Documents can be uploaded through our order form or sent electronically after placing your request. If original documents must be physically filed, we will provide mailing instructions.

Will I receive proof or confirmation?

Yes. You will receive confirmation of service, filing, or retrieval, including dates, times, and documentation such as a Return of Service, stamped copies, or retrieval confirmation when applicable.

Can you file and serve documents?

In many cases, yes. Clients often ask us to file documents with the clerk and then serve issued paperwork. We coordinate the sequence to comply with court requirements when both services are requested.

Still have questions?
