How Court Filing & Document Retrieval Works in Texas
Skip the clerk's office line — here's how filing and retrieval service actually works
Court filing and document retrieval doesn't have to mean sending staff to sit at a courthouse counter. Here's exactly how it works when you hand it off.
Need a document filed by a deadline, or a case file pulled from the record? You don't need to send staff to sit at a courthouse counter to get it done. Here's exactly how court filing and document retrieval works when you hand it off. When This Service Actually Makes Sense
You need stamped copies filed by a specific date, you need a case file or specific pleading pulled from the record, your office is out of county and doesn't want to travel for one filing, you need certified copies for a hearing or appeal, or you want one vendor handling both filing and service of process together.
What Courts We Cover
District Courts and County Courts at Law, Justice of the Peace courts, selected municipal courts, and clerk's offices for file pulls and certified copies — primarily across Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Liberty, Polk, and San Jacinto counties. For courts outside that footprint, tell us where the case is filed and we'll confirm availability before you commit.

How Filing Actually Works
You upload PDFs through our order form or send them after placing your order — for documents requiring physical filing, we provide mailing instructions. We handle the courthouse trip, get the filing stamped, and return scanned confirmation with the date, time, and location of filing.
How Document Retrieval Actually Works
We pull the specific pleading or full case file you need, scan it securely, and deliver it to your office digitally. Certified copies are available when requested, with court certification fees passed through separately.
Filing and Serving Together
Many clients ask us to file a case and then serve the issued citation and petition once it comes back — we coordinate the sequence so the court's timing requirements are actually met, rather than treating filing and service as two disconnected errands.
What We Don't Do
We don't select which forms you need, give legal advice, or tell you what to file — all documents must be prepared and authorized by you or your attorney before we file or retrieve anything on your behalf.
Realistic Timelines
Routine courthouse trips typically complete within a few business days. If you need something faster, flag it in your order — we'll confirm whether rush or same-day handling is realistic before you're billed for it.
